Mask Variance Notification

As of this Saturday, May 22 masks and social distancing will no longer be required or enforced in BGH4 Schools. BGH County School Superintendents and School Boards collectively requested a variance to the state health requirements to become effective May 22, 2021. The variance was approved by our county officials and Dr. Alexia Harrist, M.D., PhD, Wyoming’s State Health Officer. BGH County Schools will still follow isolation, quarantine (if students/staff test positive for Covid), and other recommendations from public health officials. Thank you all for your efforts to keep students and staff safe by following the state and local mask mandates this past year. As a result of low numbers of Covid-19 cases in Big Horn County over an extended period of time, this request was granted. This variance request can be revoked by public health officials, either at the county level or state level, if they feel there is cause to do so. For now, stay safe, enjoy graduation and upcoming school functions mask free. [Masks will no longer be required, but will certainly be encouraged for all who desire to continue wearing them for safety.] Dave Kerby BGH4 Schools Superintendent
